Scott, Sr. Director, Information Services

Since 1999, Scott has held various technical roles within West Business Services. His career began as a computer operator and today he serves as Sr. Director, Information Services.

What about the culture at West Business Services is different from where you’ve worked in the past?
At West Business Services the culture is very team-oriented and family friendly – definitely an environment where work-life balance is encouraged. I am able to thrive in my career at West Business Services and still have the time to participate in extra-curricular activities such as coaching my children’s baseball team. This is very important to me and West Business Services is always supportive.

When, and in what capacity, did you begin with West Business Services? What position do you currently hold? What skills did you bring to your career at West Business Services that have served you well?
I began my career as a Computer Programmer in December 1999 with Tel Mark Sales, which was acquired by West Business Services in 2001. I am currently a Senior Director of Information Services.

I believe that my driving work ethic is what has helped me the most in my career – I’ve found that if you work hard the opportunity for advancement presents itself.

A lot of businesses say their employees work on teams. What about West Business Services really makes you feel part of a team?
In Information Technology, everyone ‘covers’ for one another. If a co-worker is struggling with a project there is always someone there to lend a hand. I think this is because we truly care about each other and want to succeed as a team.

Is there one particular experience with West Business Services that you’re especially proud of?
I am currently working on a very exciting opportunity which involves the start up of a new division in Analytics. I’m very proud of where I’ve taken it so far and look forward to continuing with the project. All in all, as I look back on my past, I am really proud of the entire body of work that I’ve accomplished and not necessarily one particular event. The Information Technology team has grown from a team of three in one location to a team of over 50 spanning several offices! It’s amazing to have experienced such growth in my tenure.
